38 Fan Yazhuo, 38, is a high-tech talent introduced by Panzhihua. In 2015, he came to Panzhihua to engage in 3D printing technology research. Fan Yazhuo said with a smile that he never thought he would engage in this area of research.

Fan Yazhuo studied undergraduate majoring in non-metallic materials, master degree majoring in magnetic materials, and Ph.D. degree in electrochemistry. After graduation, he has been engaged in the research of titanium anode materials. "In our jargon, I'm doing cross-field research, but I think it's precisely because there are so many professions at hand. In the research of 3D printing, my thinking will not be confined." Fan Yazhuo said.

Fan Yazhuo said that many people don't know about 3D printing. In fact, 3D printing is a new manufacturing technology based on digital models that stacks materials layer by layer to make solid objects. It will combine traditional process flows, production lines, factory models, and industrial chain combinations. It has a profound impact and is a representative disruptive technology in manufacturing.

The metal powder materials used for 3D printing include titanium alloys, aluminum alloys, bronze alloys, nickel alloys, etc. Titanium alloy powders are the most important part of the 3D printing industry chain for metal parts, and they also have the greatest value. Electrode induction aerosolization method is one of the main methods for industrial production of titanium alloy powder in the world, and it is also the only method for domestic batch industrial production of 3D laser printing spherical titanium alloy powder. Fan Yazhuo said that Panzhihua has rich vanadium and titanium resources. Innovation, never stop

"Follow" in the early days of research. Fan Yazhuo recalled: "At that time, Germany's ALD technology was the world's leader. For our initial research, we could only follow, and we aimed at their advanced technology and products to catch up all the way."

Fan Yazhuo said that in the research that follows, while learning to absorb the advanced technology of German counterparts, our team also needs to research and develop independently, walking on two legs, melting the advanced technology of others into their own things, and then transforming into their own technology.

In 2015, the Titanium Research Institute of the Research Institute began preparations for the construction of a spherical titanium and titanium alloy powder preparation platform for 3D printing;

In 2016, complete the basic supporting and installation of aerosolization equipment;

In 2017, a preliminary study was performed on the aerosolization equipment through systematic research, and the process of preparing spherical titanium and titanium alloy powders through aerosolization was opened, and qualified products with stable quality were obtained. The overall technology and product quality reached the international advanced level;

In 2018, a breakthrough was achieved in the preparation of spherical titanium alloy powder for laser printing, and it became the only company in Panxi with a full process from titanium ore to 3D printed products. Its EIGA technology for preparing spherical titanium alloy powder, -45 microns once The yield is over 35%, reaching the top level in the world;

Since this year, the team has begun to move from laboratory to industrial production. After successively completing the research on the matching of the argon station construction and the atomization equipment, the project team is relying on the market to gradually industrialize the laboratory research results and to get rid of China's restrictions on high-end spherical titanium alloy powders as soon as possible in foreign countries. "It took us only five years to complete the process of catching up and achieve 'run and run'." Fan Yazhuo believes that at this time, innovation should be promoted to the highest level, because we have no role models. You can only rely on yourself.

Looking back on the ten years of scientific research and innovation, Fan Yazhuo's biggest insight is "persistence."
