What workshops does a regular forging factory consist of?

EST Metal Forging plant is a kind of production enterprise that uses forging machinery to exert pressure on metal blank to produce plastic deformation, so as to obtain forging processing with certain mechanical properties, certain shape and size. According to the process steps and processing types of forging production, the component production workshop is composed of the following departments.

Blanking workshop:

Blanking is a process of forging production in a forging plant. It is the blanking section before forging production in a forging enterprise. Its main function is to provide the forging processing department with raw materials of the required size and volume. The equipment in the blanking workshop of the forging plant is mainly sawing machine. Blanking refers to the operation process of removing materials of a certain shape, quantity or quality from the whole or whole batch of materials after determining the size, quantity or quality of materials required for making a forging product.

Forging workshop:

Forging plants usually adopt hot forging deformation, which is the processing method of applying pressure on metal blanks by forging machinery to produce plastic deformation, so as to obtain forgings with certain mechanical properties, certain shape and size. Forging workshops are mainly responsible for the forging process forming of forging products. Including forging process design, heating of raw materials, free forging, die forging and other processing technologies. The metal raw materials processed by forging are called forging blanks.

Machining workshop:

Forging processing refers to the process of changing the overall dimension or performance of forging products to achieve the expected machining allowance by turning, drilling, planing, grinding and pulling through mechanical equipment. It refers to the process from forging blank to finished product. The machining of forgings can be divided into rough machining (rough turning) and finish machining (finish turning). According to the difference of machining methods, it can be divided into cutting machining and pressure machining. From blank to finished product.

Heat treatment workshop:

In order to refine the coarse grains caused in the forging process, eliminate the work hardening and residual stress of the forging, reduce the hardness, improve the cutting performance of the forging, prevent white spots in the forging, and ensure the required metal structure and mechanical properties, these purposes are achieved through heat treatment. Common heat treatment methods for forgings in forging plants include complete annealing, spheroidizing annealing, isothermal annealing, normalizing, normalizing and high temperature tempering, quenching and tempering, etc.
